FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, INCORPORATED respects the privacy of people who visit www.fccbradenton.com (the “Site”).

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected through the Site, how that information may be used, and the choices available to visitors.

1. Information You Voluntarily Provide

Visitors may browse most of the Site without directly providing personal information. The primary way visitors provide personal information through the Site is through our contact form.

The contact form may collect:

  • first and last name;
  • email address;
  • telephone number; and
  • comments, questions, requests, or other information contained in your message.

We use information submitted through the contact form to respond to your inquiry, provide requested Church information, arrange pastoral contact when requested, communicate regarding Church ministries or activities, or perform reasonable Church administrative functions.

Please use discretion when submitting sensitive information through an online form or email.

2. Jetpack Stats and Information Collected Automatically

The Site uses WordPress and Jetpack Stats, a service provided by Automattic, to help us understand general website traffic and usage.

Jetpack Stats and related website services may automatically process limited technical and usage information associated with visits to the Site, such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser and user-agent information;
  • visiting URL and referring URL;
  • date and time of a visit;
  • browser language and general country information;
  • page and post views;
  • outbound link clicks; and
  • search-engine referral and similar site-usage information.

First Christian Church uses this information to understand general Site usage, monitor website performance, identify popular content, and help maintain and improve the Site. The Church generally receives this information as website statistics rather than using it to personally identify individual visitors.

Automattic may process and retain technical information in accordance with its own privacy practices.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site, WordPress, Jetpack, or other necessary website services may use cookies or similar technologies for website functionality, security, administration, analytics, and performance.

Cookies are small files or pieces of information that a website may store through your browser. You may be able to control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies or browser features may affect the operation of some portions of the Site.

4. Facebook and Social Media

The Site currently provides a link to the Church’s Facebook page. First Christian Church does not currently use a Meta/Facebook advertising pixel on the Site to track visitors for advertising purposes.

If you click a link that takes you to Facebook or another social media platform, you leave our Site. Your activity on that platform is governed by the third party’s own privacy policy and practices.

If tracking technologies or advertising pixels are added to the Site in the future, this Privacy Policy should be updated.

5. No Online Payments

The Site does not currently process online donations, purchases, credit cards, or other financial transactions.

Visitors should not submit payment-card information, bank-account information, Social Security numbers, or other highly sensitive financial information through the Site’s contact form.

6. No Website Email-List Registration

The Site does not currently offer visitors an online newsletter or email-marketing subscription form.

Providing an email address through the Contact page is for purposes related to the visitor’s inquiry and does not automatically enroll the visitor in a marketing email list.

7. How We Use Information

Information collected through the Site may be used to:

  • respond to questions or requests;
  • provide Church, worship, ministry, mission, or event information;
  • respond to requests for pastoral contact;
  • communicate regarding an inquiry initiated by a visitor;
  • operate, maintain, improve, and secure the Site;
  • understand general Site usage;
  • diagnose technical problems;
  • prevent spam, abuse, fraud, or security threats;
  • maintain reasonable Church administrative records; and
  • comply with applicable legal requirements.

8. Sale of Personal Information

FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, INCORPORATED does not sell or rent personal information submitted through the Site for monetary consideration.

  • WordPress services;
  • Jetpack and Automattic services;

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary:

11. Third-Party Links

The Site may include links to mission organizations, ministries, social media services, maps, videos, or other external resources.

When you follow an external link, the third-party provider may collect information according to its own policies. First Christian Church does not control the privacy or data practices of third-party websites.

12. Information Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical practices appropriate to the nature of the Site to help protect information under our control.

However, no website, email message, Internet transmission, or electronic-storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please avoid submitting highly sensitive information through ordinary website forms.

13. Information Retention

Information submitted through the Site may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the request for which it was provided, perform legitimate Church ministry or administrative functions, maintain appropriate records, protect the Church and its systems, resolve disputes, or meet applicable legal obligations.

Third-party providers may maintain technical or analytics information according to their own retention practices.

14. Children

The Site is intended as a general informational website for the Church and community. It is not designed for the purpose of knowingly collecting personal information directly from children under 13.

Parents or legal guardians who believe a child has submitted personal information through the Site may contact the Church regarding the information.

If you believe personal information you provided through the Site is incorrect or would like to request correction or deletion of information you submitted, you may contact us.

Requests will be evaluated in light of applicable law and legitimate Church recordkeeping, ministry, and administrative needs.

We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, technology, service providers, or information practices change.

This Policy should be reviewed if the Church later adds online giving, email newsletter registration, additional analytics, advertising pixels, online accounts, ecommerce, or other features that collect personal information.

The current version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
